Lithops, commonly known as living stones, are fascinating succulents native to the arid rocky regions of Southern Africa. Each lithops plant mainly consists of a pair of thick, fleshy, fused leaves, with a narrow fissure running down the middle. New leaf pairs emerge from this central crack during the growing cycle.
Light Requirements: They require 4 to 6 hours of direct sunlight daily. A south- or east-facing windowsill is ideal. If your summers are incredibly intense, provide some light afternoon shade to keep them from scorching.
The "No-Soil" Mix: Standard potting soil or generic store-bought cactus mixes hold too much water and can be a "death sentence" for lithops. They need a heavily mineral-based, gritty media. Experts recommend a mix that is roughly 90% inorganic material (such as coarse pumice, perlite, decomposed granite, or chicken grit) and only 10% organic matter.
The Right Pot: Always use an unglazed terracotta or ceramic pot with an active drainage hole. Terracotta is porous and allows moisture to escape quickly, preventing root rot.
The Lithops you will receive:
Size: 0.6"-1.1"in each, bareroot, no soil, no pot, no other planting materials
Species and Color: Multi-color, 5 different varieties in total of each collection.
